"Fighting for a fairer Victoria through evidence-based policy."

I have lived in the Indi Electorate since the 1980s, in North East Victoria, which is famous for having 4 consecutive terms of an independent representative. I am known locally as an educator, a former shire councillor and long-term environmental activist.

I have a B.Sc majoring in Geology, a Dip.Ed and more recently gained a Masters of Human Rights.

I have been farming here with my family for over 30 years. I am an educator, having taught at Primary, Secondary and TAFE level, as well as being a sports coach and coach trainer. Running a local sporting club led me to preside over its state level sporting organisation, and as a Shire Councillor I served on State Committees for Environment, Resource Management and Alpine Management.

I have been politically active in local and regional communities now for two decades, and founded One Planet Party in 2018. This subsequently merged with Save the Planet to become federally registered as Vote Planet, and then, under the Morrison Government’s electoral reform, merged with others to form FUSION.

Why Fusion

The recent swing away from the Major Parties, generally, and towards independents in the lower house, show us that Australians are now seeing how important it is to have independent and small party voices in parliament - voices not beholden to powerful donors and lobbyists, voices standing up for what is the interests of all Australians.

It will be critical in the Senate to have numerous crossbench incumbents to temper the influence of business – including foreign corporations – and their lobbyists on our policy and governance. Such a crossbench can pressure the government of the day to act on broader issues that matter to current and future Australians – climate & environment, integrity, humanity - delivering a fair and equitable society through ethical governance.

Our future

I am ensuring a future for our children, fighting to transition our economy away from fossil fuel dependency and move into a new, sustainable future around renewable energy, while ensuring preserved environmental values and resource availability.

Achieving such a mandate requires us also to protect whistleblowers to enable integrity, transparency and trust to be restored to our parliament.

Young people need to have faith that we, in government, are making decisions for their future, and not for the current generation’s own short-sighted, short-term gain.
